Shag Explosion / Canadian Shag Championships

Ottawa, Canada

This workship weekend is currently the only East Coast event promoting Collegiate Shag.

- July/August -

Camp Hollywood / National Jitterbug Championships

Los Angeles, California

This event features a variety of competitions and classes that embrace the spirit of the jitterbug. Eventhough this event is devoted to not just shag, but a variety of swing dances, the Collegiate Shag Division easily brings out the most professional shag dancers to compete at their top form.

Hot Rhythm Holiday

Austin, Texas

A weekend dance workshop and cultural event - including two days of tracked-level classes from internationally renowned instructors and two nights of live jazz and dancing. Friday night features a catered dinner with special performances; Saturday night includes the Texas Balboa and Shag Championships.

- October -

San Francisco Shag Jam

San Francisco, California

By far, this event brings together the most instructors and most collegiate shag enthusiats out of any other event.

- December -

San Francisco Balboa Festival / North American Open

San Francisco, California

While the primary focus of this event is Balboa, the event has a long history of also promoting shag classes and a Collegiate Shag Division.
